Lost Bicycles is an installation commissioned for the non-profit organisation Creative Hub 1352’s In Situ Multi-Arts Festival using a collection of refuse and broken objects from a bicycle repair shop. I partnered with the Oasis Skateboard Factory (an alternative program part of the TDSB) students to co-create an engaging space. Envisioning our room as a bicycle planet, we created a wheel dome for visitors to enter and performers to engage with. The students spray-painted bicycle tires and created sculptural pieces. Visited by 500+ people, the bi-annual event is hosted at the Small Arms Inspection Building in celebration of Mississauga’s arts community and to invite the public into this historic building, whose north end is usually closed to the public. Visit In Situ here.
